Case Study:
Getting ahead of the game
Our Challenge
A large IT client wanted to move their IT project services out of reactive mode. They needed a more proactive way to manage peaks and troughs in demand, so they could stay ahead of their organisation’s needs.
Our approach
We developed a business and IT capability-based model to plan and forecast demand and supply. This model identified key roles and skill-sets that could be matched to incoming business project demand. By combining the data available with insights from members of the team, we created a high-fidelity projection of resources and capabilities needed on any given project.
The Outcome
The client now has better data-driven decision making, which fosters innovation and accelerates business improvement cycles. By forecasting project needs, the team can also form a strategy to identify and fill gaps in staff capability, to meet the demand when it arises.
